Where Manufacturing Innovation Becomes Reality

The Manufacturing Innovation Centre Moray (MICM) is a hub where expertise, innovation and practical solutions come together to help manufacturers improve their people, processes and products.

Serving businesses across Moray and the Highlands and Islands, MICM supports manufacturers to explore new ideas, strengthen productivity, adopt advanced technologies and move towards more sustainable ways of working.

Elevator is proud to be the appointed operating partner for MICM, responsible for managing the Centre, its programmes and wrap-around business support services.

MICM is a Moray Growth Deal project led by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) that includes more than £2.4m funding from UK Government, £1.8m from the Scottish Government, and £2.5m from HIE.

About MICM

MICM has been created to support manufacturing businesses locally and across the wider Highlands and Islands through access to expertise, innovation support and practical facilities.

Based at Enterprise Park Forres, the centre is designed to help businesses improve productivity, explore product and process innovation, and build confidence in low-carbon transition and future growth.

MICM is one of eight strategic projects within the Moray Growth Deal and is led by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

This keeps close to the current official project description while avoiding outdated “opening soon” language.

What MICM Offers

Through our expert team, MICM provides:

  • State-of-the-art demonstration facilities and equipment for manufacturers and innovators
  • Workshops, events and training to explore new technologies and low-carbon solutions
  • Business support and advisory services to help SMEs adopt innovation in practice
  • Flexible workspaces and incubation areas for growing companies and project teams
  • Opportunities to collaborate with other manufacturers, partners and innovation agencies
