SHELLEY BOOTH FOUNDER
Combining her academic background in sport and exercise science with over 20 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Shelly launched her wellness business in 2019. A concept designed to make keeping fit accessible and fun for busy women.
With the basis ideas of an online health and wellness programme, Shelley joined the Elevator Programme in Spring 2019, to turn her concept into cash. In just two years she reached a phenomenal milestone, becoming a seven-figure business.
A key aim of the accelerator is to challenge Founders to look at their business in new ways through exploring different business models and linking them with agitators to shake-up their thinking. Shelley’s perseverance with the new approaches paid off, despite her initial trepidation.
Shelley commented: “Business model canvas was a bit of a bug bear for me at first – it’s a tool used to examine your business model and develop new ones. I’ve since realised its huge importance in driving my business forward. I really enjoyed the camaraderie between Founders of other businesses and learning about their own journeys. I even liked being agitated!”
Shelley’s hugely popular Feel Look Be online programme focusses on expert nutrition advice and home-based workouts to fit round clients’ busy lifestyles and has now been adopted by thousands of women around the world. She said: “Covid impacted my business by allowing me to capitalise on being able to get even more bums on seats and eyes on screens. It meant I could get my message across to people most in need of support.”
Shelley describes her experience of the Programme as ‘invaluable in her development’. “If you want your business to grow, the programme offers key principles to deep-dive into, which Elevator educates and supports you through. The team also challenges your thinking and provokes sparks of genius – that’s what happened to me anyway!”
