Milford Engineering is a family-run vintage, veteran and classic car restoration business based in Tayside.
Listed by the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast Club as Scottish pre-war specialists, Milford Engineering has a strong reputation with a loyal customer base.
Launched in 2005 and managed by husband and wife, Ian and Sarah Milford, the business has a small but dedicated group of five staff who help maintain a very high standard of service. Prior to setting up Milford Engineering, Ian worked in the vintage car industry for a number of years, while Sarah has a legal and administrative background.
Business Gateway Tayside supported Milford Engineering by providing specialist advice on HR issues and running workshops about social media in business. This created stronger staff relationships and higher levels of customer engagement.
Sarah Milford, co-owner of Milford Engineering added: “Business Gateway’s training encouraged Ian and me to engage more with both our staff and customers. As a result, we are attracting new customers regularly and encouraging the public to interact with our business.
“We’ve implemented some changes; as a husband and wife team it can be easy to forget to communicate beyond the partnership, but we now have weekly meetings with all staff members, to ensure everyone is informed.”
Ian and Sarah went on to bring everything under one roof by offering all of Milford Engineering’s services in-house.
