ITC Hydraulics, a leading hydraulic solutions specialist, provides onsite services to the offshore, subsea, mobile, and industrial sectors. Established in 1999, the company is recognised for offering dynamic solutions to technically challenging work scopes.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown in Scotland, ITC Hydraulics was faced with a 60% drop in revenue and the team’s relocation to new premises was cancelled.
The owners turned to the Business Gateway Aberdeen City & shire team for crucial guidance on how lockdown would affect the immediate future of the firm as well as advice on researching renewables and broadening their existing portfolio.
Business Gateway was able to signpost relevant funding and the business secured £100k through the Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund (PERF).
Erlend Corrigall, Business Development Manager, ITC Hydraulics, said: “We initially contacted Business Gateway in 2012 when we were developing one of our premises, and again in 2019 when we were accepted for the Gateway Assistance Scheme.
“We heard about some examples of the COVID-19 resources available through our network of colleagues in the industry, so we got in touch with our local team. Since then, we have utilised a variety of key support services including expert insight and routes to funding amidst the pressures of COVID-19. Without the support we accessed, company restructuring would have been inevitable. We are very grateful for the guidance and direction received during what has been the most challenging period in the company’s history.”
Looking ahead to the future, ITC Hydraulics plans to continue working with Business Gateway to broaden its portfolio and increase marketing activity, in particular through social media channels.
