A team of budding cyclists from leading entrepreneurial support organisation Elevator, have cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh and raised more than £1300 for The Princes Trust.

The team of nine from Elevator, which works across Grampian and Tayside to help facilitate the start-up and growth of new and existing businesses, took part in Pedal for Scotland, a 50-mile cycle from Glasgow to the capital city.

With a mixture of experienced and inexperienced cyclists, each member was aiming to raise at least £100 in order to support The Prince's Trust, a charity Elevator work closely with.

The free programmes The Prince's Trust offer give young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. They help them to develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation.

All of the money raised by the team will be put towards young people's hopes and aspirations, as well as breaking down barriers in order for them to succeed.

prof gary mcewan tickstar2Gary McEwan, Elevator’s Chief Executive who was taking part in the challenge, said: “What great fun that was and a sense of achievement with the whole team pulling together and spurring each other on.

“Most importantly, we have raised a magnificent amount of money for The Princes Trust, which we know will be put to great use helping youngsters who may not have the support otherwise.

“A big well done to all my colleagues who took part in the challenge and huge thanks to everyone who has donated to the cause.”
