The Scottish Home Show team are once again lending support to new businesses within the home improvement sector, by launching this year’s competition for the chance to WIN A STAND at what is now one of the largest home improvement exhibitions in Scotland.
The competition invites new businesses, with products or services relevant to Scottish Home Show, to submit a proposed stand design along with their aims and objectives for exhibiting.
The winner will get the chance to exhibit on a 3m x 2m stand for free at this year’s show, sponsored once again by developer, Dandara, at the AECC from September 23- 25.

Last year’s winner, Scottish designer, inventor and magician Craig Phillips of Levitas Design, brought his range of illuminated, levitating beds and bedside tables to Aberdeen for the first time, after launching his business in May 2015.
Darren Ross, Director of Xcite Ltd, said: “Every year we are blown away by the innovative services and products for the home that appear in the market place. We want to do what we can to support these new companies, as well as encouraging them to showcase their exciting products at Scottish Home Show, and understand that the cost of exhibiting at events can be prohibitive for start-ups. This competition offers an exciting opportunity for the winner to showcase their products and ideas to over 10,000 home enthusiasts during the three-day event.

“Confirmed exhibitors this year include AGA, Bon Accord Glass, Maserati, Steven Burgess Fine Furniture and Scotframe, and with celebrity experts Tommy Walsh, Linda Barker and Charlie Dimmock on hand to try out the winning products, we hope that new business owners are excited as we are about this opportunity.”
Craig Phillips, of Levitas Design, said:
“Like most small start-up businesses, all of our available funds were used to develop, design and manufacture our floating beds, leaving very little money left for marketing and attending shows. To win the opportunity to exhibit to thousands of potential customers at Scottish Home Show 2015 was a dream come true. The number of sales we made across the weekend exceed all expectations, and we are still taking orders as a result of exhibiting one year later.
“The revenue we generated from exhibiting at Scottish Home Show has enabled us to attend more shows and as a result we are now selling into Europe, the Middle East and American markets. The growth in the past year has been phenomenal, and we are very excited to see what the next year holds.”
Potential stand designs visuals/artist impressions must be emailed by Friday, September 2, 2016 to isla@xcitemedia.com. Stand specifications can be found at www.scottishhomeshow.com.
An independent panel of judges will assess all entries, with a winner to be announced on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, giving winners two weeks to create their stand. Stands must be built between 8am and 8pm on Thursday September 22, 2016.
