Elevator announces a collaborative technology partnership with world-leaders in low carbon energy.
Ricardo - a global engineering, environmental and strategic consultancy, and Productiv - clean engineering product development specialists, have joined as sector delivery partners to bolster Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc’s (MSIP) Sustainable Mobility and Low Carbon Innovation Accelerator, which Elevator was recently appointed to deliver.
The newly formed strategic partnership will see Ricardo and Productiv provide independent industry insight for participants on the programme, enabling each to tap into in-depth technical know-how and resources.
Through a hands-on approach, joint efforts will concentrate on supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs who are focused on developing sustainable mobility, clean transport and low carbon energy solutions.
Specialising in the transport, energy and scarce resource sectors, Ricardo’s mobility, environment and energy teams will provide unparalleled advice to help the build and creation of class-leading technologies.
New product development specialist and practitioner Productiv will help participants with leading edge low carbon technologies break into production and to market, leveraging its hands-on experience and connections in the automotive and zero-carbon transportation sector.
The collaboration comes just one month after Elevator announced the launch of its new programme on behalf of MSIP, a joint venture between Dundee City Council, Michelin and Scottish Enterprise.
Professor Gary McEwan, Elevator CEO, said: “The shift towards low-carbon technologies has been accelerated following the sharp decline in oil prices earlier this year; it is clear that the fight for net-zero for future generations is high on Scotland’s agenda.
“The combined strengths of this new partnership will bring leading edge technical expertise to boost the development of technologies or services aimed at reducing carbon emissions at a time when a need for change is unequivocal.
“For Elevator, this is an example of how we are striving to support visionary entrepreneurs, while addressing sector specific needs to help drive economic recovery.”
Colin McNaught, Technical Director at Ricardo Energy & Environment, said “This is a fantastic opportunity to help businesses in Scotland develop and deliver successful technical and digital solutions to drive forward sustainable mobility.”
Anand Lakhani, Chief Executive at Productiv: “We are delighted to be playing a role in delivering this programme. Low carbon and sustainable mobility are key for future innovations and developments, together with MSIP and its associated partners we will be working to develop and support energy conscious companies.”
