The Enterprise Projects team are busy working on one of our latest projects - Making it Happen.

This idea has been bubbling away for the best part of year; we wanted to find some way to engage with young people who have a real interest in enterprise, those who know that they don't want to be employees but aren't really sure if they have what it takes to go it alone.

We have pulled together a one day conference (this is the start of the plan) with four inspirational speakers and one motivational host. Attendees will get a chance to listen to four amazing stories from four very different individuals who have all had to face up to very different challenges but have all believed in themselves.

There will be opportunities to ask questions during a q & a session towards the end of the day, but also an chance to meet with other young people who are in business to find out why and how they've done it.

Following the conference we will be running a series of events over the next 12 months for those who've attended MiH2011 and who want to develop their ideas.

So how have we pulled this together?

We've booked the exhibition space - we now need 400 people to fill it!

Four speakers and a host - more info on the website

Built the website, and integrated ticket booking with Event Brite - that was a new one for me, but we've done it and it's working!

Built the facebook page - need to remember to keep posting information to that

Agreed on the twitter hash tag #MiH2011 - follow that for more information

We want to create a visual record of the day! We're now working with Pauline Cook of Frasermedia and Aberdeen College Multimedia department; students are going to film, edit and produce the dvd!!

We've now started telling everyone we can think of who needs to know about the event that it's happening and why they should come along.

Date for the diary - Wednesday 23 November 2011 at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre

We have also been really fortuntate to have the support of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust, Abedeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils
