Keep the Taxman in the loop over business changes

A timely reminder for all business owners to keep HM Revenue and Customs up to date about changes to their company, no matter how small.

The Forum of Private Business (FPB) broke a story last week about a business who is facing a £10,000-plus fine for not informing inspectors it had changed it's name.

The company, that did not want to be named, was orginally hit with a fine of more than £30,000 under VAT notification liabilities.
