Who is Elevator?

We are a social enterprise and one of Scotland’s leading business support organisations. Working across Scotland, we provide those looking to start or grow a business with all the tools they need to make it a success, while re-investing into the regions we operate in. 

What is Elevator’s relationship with Business Gateway?

We are contracted to deliver Business Gateway services across three of Scotland’s seven cities – Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth – which sees our advisers support around 20% of Scotland’s Business Gateway start-up companies.

Do you have to pay for Business Gateway’s support services?

No! The best bit is everything is free, from your initial 1-2-1s to workshops, masterclasses and networking events.

Where is Elevator based?

Our team is scattered throughout Scotland for your benefit. We deliver Business Gateway support and entrepreneurial expertise from our offices and Centres for Entrepreneurship in Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth.

What is Elevator’s Challenge weekend?

Our three-day challenge is about pushing boundaries and testing limits. Open to all ages, and fully-funded by Elevator, we shake up participants’ thinking and motivate them to look at situations differently, providing each with essential tools to use in everyday business life. 

What is an Elevator Accelerator programme? 

An intensive programme designed to encourage ambitious pre-start and existing businesses to take their ideas to the next level, discovering potential growth and investment opportunities.

In what Scottish regions does Elevator run its accelerator programmes?

We currently run six accelerator programmes throughout Scotland including Moray, Aberdeen, Dundee and Perth. All of which are complemented with our Business Gateway offering.

Are there costs for Elevator’s Accelerators?

No, all programmes are fully-funded. The only one which differs is our ONE Digital accelerator, when a fee of £250 is payable to Opportunity North East ahead of bootcamp. Please note, that is not a guarantee of acceptance onto the programme.

What is a Founder?

Founder is the name we give to all participants on our accelerator programmes.

Can anyone apply for Elevator’s accelerator programmes?

Absolutely. If you’re ready to take your business to the next level our team will challenge and motivate you to unlock you and your businesses potential.

Are there opportunities to get involved as a supporter or sponsor of Elevator’s accelerator programmes?

Yes. We provide opportunities for both. Supporters – known as agitators, play a key role in our founders’ journeys, providing invaluable industry knowledge. Is it free to enter the Elevator Awards?

Yes!

How do I enter the Elevator Awards?

Easy – once submissions are open for the category you wish to apply, simply complete the online application form. You will then receive an email confirmation that we have your entry.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, you can enter as many as you wish as long as you meet the category’s eligibility criteria.

Is my submission confidential?

Yes. All award submissions are treated as highly confidential. Only the Elevator Awards team and judging panel will view them.

When will I know I am a finalist?

Finalists from all categories will be notified by the middle of April, for the year of submission. A representative from Elevator will contact award entrants via email or phone to let them know if they have been successful or not.

When will I find out if I have won?

All winners will be announced at our annual awards ceremony which takes place in June each year.

Will I receive feedback from my submission?

No, feedback is not given on submissions.

How does Elevator’s Hall of Fame work?

Individuals who secure the Entrepreneur of the Year and Lifetime Achievement award will be automatically inducted into our Hall of Fame.
