Securing the right funding has helped PME Dundee become a major player in its field.

The plumbing, mechanical and electrical contractor business, has secured £1million in orders with figures expected to grow throughout Q1 2019, in turn enabling PME to increase its workforce.

The Dundee based firm, which offers services throughout Angus, Fife and Tayside, has used Business Gateway’s services to assist in setting up necessary policies and procedures in order to comply with employment legislation.

The company was set up by Dave Page, Grant McConnachie and Martin Hay to offer apprenticeships and support for the city’s next generation. Since, it has been shortlisted in the Dundee City Council Inspire Awards ‘Make a Difference’ category, in November 2018.

The awards, organised by partners Dundee Youth Fund, Dundee City Council, Dundee Youth Council and Volunteer Dundee, recognise the achievements of Dundee’s young people.

Grant McConnachie, Director at PME Dundee, said: “We have gone from strength to strength since launching in 2017. Our client base is broadening all the time as more potential clients become aware of the capability of our business. In addition, we were thrilled to be shortlisted in the ‘Make a Difference’ category at last year’s Inspire Awards; acknowledgement that wouldn’t have been possible without our initial support from Business Gateway.

“I would thoroughly recommend Business Gateway to any new business, the support we received has been second to none. No matter whether you’re new to the world of commerce or are seasoned professionals, the assistance and services on offer are an excellent aid to help you in setting your business on the path to success.”
