Craig Angus, Whaapp CEO

Enterprise and Whaapp Limited are pleased to announce that Whaapp Chief Executive Officer Craig Angus will present at North East Business Week event “Be Your Own Boss” on Wednesday 18th April.

The week, run in partnership with Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise North East Trust, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Scottish Council for Development and Industry, will be held between the 16th and 20th April with this year’s theme being “Driving Growth – Creating an enterprising and prosperous future”.

Whaapp Chief Executive Officer, Craig Angus said: “We are very excited to have been invited to discuss our start-up story and the development of our first app, TaxiApp.  North East Business Week is a great event that brings together many like-minded people who have either started their own business or are thinking of doing so.  Hopefully our story can inspire those in the latter category to take the first step.”
The Be Your Own Boss event will be held at The Robert Gordon’s University Faculty of Health and Social Care in Aberdeen and will be hosted by Enterprise North East Trust’s CEO Gary McEwan, along with fellow speakers Jim Eastwood (BBC Apprentice Finalist 2011) and Judith Thorpe (Thorpe Molloy).

Gary McEwan commented “The North East of Scotland is well known for its energy related industries, but as we all know North Sea oil is a finite resource; consequently it is vital that we continue to develop new and exciting businesses to contribute to the future economic prosperity of the region. This event is a great opportunity for people thinking about starting their own businesses to come along and listen to three very inspirational stories.”

North East Business Week is an initiative by the region’s four principal business organisations – Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC), Enterprise North East Trust (ENET), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) – to jointly highlight the message that this region continues to be a major economic driver for economic recovery in Scotland and across the UK.  To book your place at the event or for more information please visit www.northeastbusinessweek.co.uk.

TaxiApp is being launched in Aberdeen during the summer by Craig Angus, Eleanor Powell-Jackson and Craig Burnett, who set-up Whaapp Limited in 2011 to develop web and smart phone based multimedia applications.  For more information please visit www.taxiapp.co.
