Dundee Businesses Set for a Boost with 3rd Dundee Business Week

IMG 4641Dundee Business Week is returning from Monday 22nd – Friday 26th February 2016.

Building upon the successes of 2014 and 2015, the week will offer another fantastic schedule of events aimed at boosting businesses of any size or sector.

The business week brings together the local business support community to host these special events. This years’ partners including Elevator, Business Gateway, Dundee City Council, FSB, Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, Dundee and Angus College, Scottish Business Resilience Centre, Bright Idea Scotland, Dundee Social Enterprise Network, Scottish Enterprise and even Police Scotland.

15 events will take place across the city. The following are just some of the events included, most of which are free to attend:

  • IMG 4661Pension Auto-EnrolmentMonday, 22nd February from 8 am to 10 am at Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Road – The pension laws are changing and you need to be aware of what you must do to ensure your business complies.
  • Crime against business with Police Scotland and Scottish Business Resilience CentreMonday, 22nd February from 12 pm to 2 pm at Scottish Enterprise House, 3 Greenmarket – Crime targeted towards businesses can include everything from financial scams and theft, through to the theft of equipment and materials. Businesses of any size can be targeted but a basic knowledge of what to look out for and be aware of can significantly help you in protecting your business. This session will look at the crimes IMG 4546 hat businesses can suffer from and what you can do to protect yourself from them happening to you.
  • Meet the Buyer in the Public SectorTuesday, 23rd February from 10 am to 1 pm at Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Road – In Scotland around £9bn of Public Sector goods and services are tendered each year. The procurement process can sometimes appear confusing and this event will allow you to find out more about bidding for Public Sector work and how to meet local buyers
  • Chamber of Commerce High Noon LunchWednesday, 24th February from 11.30 am to 2 pm at Invercarse Hotel, 371 Perth Road – This High Noon Lunch is one of the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce’s biggest events, and is set to bring in a fantastic speaker who is leading the way in the app world.
