"Our goal is simple. We want our local businesses to survive, we want jobs to be retained and we want to ensure our economy can stay resilient, so that when we emerge from this pandemic – and we will emerge, we will have a powerful community ready to hit the ground running."

Caryn Gibson Deputy Operations Manger - Tayside

There is no denying that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a monumental impact on life as we know it. Looking through the business community lens, companies of all sizes have grounded to a halt with an overwhelming sense of panic, fear and uncertainty as we navigate our way through the unknown.

As a business support organisation, we understood the importance of adapting our offering to stay open at a time of crisis. We have already taken some big steps to ensure our doors remain virtually open. All services have been digitised and our advisers have moved from face-to-face meetings to virtual discussions, delivering the same results.

Our goal is simple. We want our local businesses to survive, we want jobs to be retained and we want to ensure our economy can stay resilient, so that when we emerge from this pandemic – and we will emerge, we will have a powerful community ready to hit the ground running.

As we enter week four of lockdown, our advisers have spoken to over 500 business owners in Tayside, alone. Each have used these conversations as an opportunity to take the information and help shape this new service offering - COVID-19: Survive and Thrive.

With an aim to support businesses across the region, the one-to-one support delivered digitally will cover, but is not limited to:

  • Business Model Review
  • Cashflow Forecasting
  • Marketing Strategy
  • HR Support – Furlough, staff payments, staff contracts etc.
  • Risk Mitigation
  • Insurance
  • Understanding Tax
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Identify Alternative Revenue Streams
  • And more…

In addition, those in need have free access to a suite of workshops including marketing and understanding your market, book-keeping, managing business finance, plus access to a wealth of webinars to help navigate through these challenging times.

It is imperative to remember; with problem comes opportunity. As you work through your business plan think, is it time to look at how you could diversify your product or service? Are their solutions you could be offering to your target market which you hadn’t thought of before?

We are here to help you work through COVID-19, to ultimately reinforce and strength our region’s economy. To find out more here.
