PKBEM Collage copyFuture-proofing your business is the focus of Perth and Kinross Business & Enterprise Month 2016, which starts on Tuesday, 1 November.

A wide range of free events featuring key speakers will be on offer to help local businesses and entrepreneurs embrace future trends and practices under the weekly themes of Innovation, Digital, Processes, Planning and Promotion and Showcasing Business.

Those attending will have the opportunity to develop and boost their business through many of the training workshops, which will take place throughout the whole of November.

Perth and Kinross Business & Enterprise Month 2016 is jointly hosted by Elevator, which helps facilitate the start-up and growth of new and existing businesses across Grampian and Tayside, and Business Gateway, alongside key partners Perth and Kinross Council, Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Scottish Businesses (FSB), Scottish Enterprise (SE) and University of the Highlands and Islands Perth College.

IMG 5593Andrew Burnett, Elevator and Business Gateway Operations Director said: “Perth and Kinross is a great region for entrepreneurial talent and potential, and Perth and Kinross Business & Enterprise Month is a fantastic part of the local business calendar. This year, with the theme of ‘Futureproofing Your Business’, we will be focusing on a range of aspects such as marketing, payment and business processes and offering businesses a look at what the future holds for these.”

FSB Perth and Kinross Chair Gillian McEwan said that now more than ever, the region’s economic growth rests on the future success of its businesses.

“There are many challenges to running a business; they range from the obvious, such as rising overheads and keeping up with regulation, to external issues such as an increasingly competitive global market, technological developments and the threat of cyber and business crime.

“The events taking place during business month will touch on many of these issues and provide businesses with the skills to deal with them.”
