"I can really take the time to focus on my business because Elevator takes care of everything – from the mail collection and meeting room setup, to window cleaning and car park gritting and way more."

Kara Dey Elevator Tenant

We spoke with Kara Dey, owner of Elite Professional Beauty, a tenant in our Crichiebank Business Centre. Find out what she believes are the benefits to being an Elevator tenant.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your business?

"My name is Kara Dey and I have been working in the beauty industry since 2007, with experience in both the salon and spa areas of the industry. 2015 was the year that I took the leap to start up on my own.

"I am passionate about all things beauty and feel privileged to do this on a daily basis as my career. I offer an extensive range of beauty treatments from my office at Crichiebank Business Centre, alongside my employee Becca, who provides nail and makeup services.

"I believe I have combined my industry experience to create a hybrid business – a relaxing spa experience in a salon environment."

What benefits does operating from Crichiebank Business Centre bring to your business?

"There are various benefits, where do I begin?! The main ones to highlight are the free parking which is easy for clients to access, the perfect location, generously sized offices and the friendly and approachable staff who are always on hand to help. I never feel alone, there is always someone I can turn to for advice.

"I can really take the time to focus on my business because Elevator takes care of everything – from the mail collection and meeting room setup, to window cleaning and car park gritting and way more."

We understand that everyone is facing a challenging and uncertain time due to the impact of COVID-19. How has Elevator been able to provide support during these unprecedented times?

"Elevator has been so supportive during this difficult time. In the very early stages of COVID-19, the team responded very promptly. The guidelines were displayed throughout the Centre and we were kept up to date with the latest government advice right from the beginning.

"Unfortunately, due to the nature of my business, I am unable to work from home so have had to close for the foreseeable future. I made this decision along with other tenants from Crichiebank Business Centre who also operate in the beauty industry. It was reassuring to have this support from the others experiencing the same situation as me – I wouldn’t have had this in a stand-alone shop.

"Closing my business was an extremely stressful and emotional decision, however I received great support from Karen Pugh. It is easy to get lost in the overload of information available online, but Karen really took the time to signpost me to information relevant to my business, in particular, the Scottish Government’s Coronavirus Business Support Fund. Karen’s responses are always personal and timely, I can’t thank her enough."
